Surry County, Art & Soul of the Yadkin Valley, NC, launched a wine trail in late 2017. Given the success of NC's somewhat newly founded AVA Yadkin Valley, drawing an official wine trail seems like a natural next step.
Surry's Wine Trail features not only the big boys: Shelton Vineyards, JOLO Winery, and Old North State Winery, but also younger establishments such as Slightly Askew Winery and Round Peak Vineyards. In addition to wineries, Yadkin Valley has included some local Breweries and Distilleries such as Angry Troll Brewing, Mayberry Spirits, and White Elephant Brewing.
In addition to the wine trail's puch-packing line up, Surry has been sending free brochures to anyone requesting. The brochure includes information on the Yadkin Valley AVA, the grape varietals, maps, and lodging information.
VanNoppen Marketing worked with Surry County in introducing the wine trail using Digital Marketing. We promoted the wine trail on the website www.yadkinvalleync.com, via paid promotions such as Google AdWords and misc. banner ads, more personal e-blast campaigns, and various social media outlets. Turns out NC Wines is a popular phenomenon!
