GREG ANDERSON JOINS TREAT IN MORGANTON AS EXECUTIVE CHEF

MORGANTON, NC, June 1, 2015 – Culinary veteran Greg Anderson has joined Treat Restaurant and Bar in downtown Morganton as Executive Chef overseeing the eatery kitchen known for its wide variety of offerings, many served with a “layered eating” Tapas style flare.

With 17 years in the restaurant business and a culinary degree from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, Anderson brings well-rounded dining expertise he acquired while working at the upscale Soul Gastrolounge in Charlotte and Root & Vine and Mountain Burrito restaurants in Morganton.

As Executive Chef, Anderson will oversee Treat’s approach to casual, yet intimate dining in a restaurant where the menu features hand-crafted seasonal specials. Inspired by his creativity, innovation and desire to delight people through delicious food, Anderson’s cooking style emphasizes fresh, new and artistic plates with distinctive Spanish, Asian and Italian influences.

“My passion is making people smile with food, it doesn’t matter what it is,” Anderson said. “Eating is very universal and every person has a different idea of what it means to be ‘Treated.’ If what I bring out makes the customer happy then I’ve done my job.”

“Because we desire to bring constant newness and surprise to the customer, I get to do it all,” he said. “I can be creative; if I have an idea I can put it into action, nothing is off limits if it’s ‘a treat’.”

Treat Restaurant & Bar owner, Sabrina Hurt, said the Treat team has already been hard at work with Anderson on expanding the menu. Recent additions include daily lunch selections.

“We are very excited to have Greg on board with us,” Hurt said. “He shares our vision for Treat. His passion for fun, food and people, along with his talent and creativity are a perfect fit for us and our customers.”

In a separate staff addition, Hurt said Josh L’HommeDieu has joined the Treat team as Front of the House Manager. “He really understands how to execute the dining experience Treat wants to offer our patrons,” Hurt said.

Treat Restaurant & Bar is part of the business known simply as Treat and located at 100 West Sterling Street in Morganton. An extensive accessory and gift shop, Treat Gift Shop, shares the building with an entrance on the corner of Union and Sterling streets.
